Egypt's Pres. Reiterates Backing To Lebanon For Achieving Security, Stability

CAIRO, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi reaffirmed on Monday his country's support to all the Lebanese institutions' efforts aiming to restore security and stability.
President Al-Sisi made this statement during in a phone call he received today from his Lebanese counterpart Joseph Aoun, according to a statement by the Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamad El-Shennawy.
The Egyptian leader expressed Egypt's unwavering support for Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity, in addition to Egypt's categorical rejection of any violations of Lebanon's sovereignty.
He announced Egypt's keenness to assist the Lebanese government's reconstruction efforts.
The two presidents addressed ways to strengthen relations between the two countries.
They affirmed their commitment to further advancing bilateral cooperation across various fields, including the fields of economy, trade, and investment, to fulfill the aspirations of the two peoples.
They also touched on regional developments and ways to achieve calm and de-escalation in the region.
Furthermore, the two leaders touched on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the need to reach an immediate ceasefire, end the Israeli occupation's aggression, ensure the entry of urgent humanitarian aid, release the hostages and captives, and promptly begin the reconstruction process in the Strip.
They emphasized the firm position of both Egypt and Lebanon in supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish their independent state and rejecting the displacement of Palestinians from their land. (end)
