Rain Forecast For Most Of KP, Flash Flood And Landslide Warnings Issued

According to the Meteorological Department, most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to experience humid and partly cloudy weather over the next 24 hours, with rainfall forecast in several areas.

Rain is likely in Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Chitral, Swat, and Malakand, as well as in Dir, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Torghar, Mansehra, and Abbottabad.

Southern districts including Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, and Orakzai, along with Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, and North and South Waziristan, are also expected to receive rain.

The department has issued flash flood warnings for streams and nullahs in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Buner, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Torghar, and Mansehra. Alerts for potential flooding have also been issued for Abbottabad, Mardan, Swabi, Kurram, and Khyber. There is a risk of landslides in upper districts.

Rainfall recorded yesterday included 68mm in Mardan, the highest in the province, 22mm in Risalpur, and 4mm each in Kakol and Drosh.

In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 25°C, with a maximum expected to reach 28°C. Malam Jabba and Kalam reported the lowest temperatures in the province at 15°C and 16°C respectively.
