(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PARIS, July 4 (KUNA) -- Chaos continued at airports across France on Friday as hundreds of flights were cancelled due to the strike of air traffic controllers which entered second day.
More than 300,000 passengers were affected by the strike of some 260 air traffic controllers who demand higher pay and better working conditions, according to the BFM news network.
The trade union started staging an initial two-day strike yesterday and warned of escalating steps next week if their demands were not met.
More than 900 flights were cancelled yesterday amid expectations that the chaos will worsen further in Paris and other parts of the country today and tomorrow.
Prime Minister Francois Bayrou termed the strike as horrible and accused the striking workers of holding the French people hostage. (end)
