(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 22 (KUNA) -- Egypt expressed on Sunday deep concerns over the latest developments occurring in Iran, following the US airstrikes against three nuclear facilities.
A statement by the Foreign Ministry warned that the escalation might result in dangerous consequences for regional and international peace and security.
It reflected Egypt's refusal of any act that violated the UN Charter and international law, stressing the importance of respecting the sovereignty of all nations.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry warned against sliding the region into more chaos and tension, stressing that the way forward was through diplomacy and not the military escalation.
It reiterated Egyptian calls for de-escalation and self-restraint to protect civilians lives and keep the region stable and secure. (end)
