Investors In Tafilah Industrial Zone To Get Free Electricity Supply, Says Minister

Amman, May 26 (Petra) -- The Council of Ministers approved investment incentives and privileges for investors interested in establishing projects in the Tafilah Industrial Zone, said Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani.
Following the Cabinet session held in Tafilah on Monday, Momani explained that the decision to offer free electricity to investors in Tafilah is part of the government's strategy to support economic development in Tafilah.
The initiative aims to lure in more private sector investments, bolster infrastructure and create employment opportunities for local youth and residents, Momani added.
The incentives include a full exemption from electricity charges for both new and existing investors who register or establish their investments in the Tafilah Industrial Zone within one year of the decision.
Investors will benefit from free electricity for a period of three years from the date their projects become operational. Land prices will also be halved, decreasing from the current rate of JOD10 to JOD5 per square meter.
Momani urged businesses and investors to leverage the opporttinity in Tafilah, describing it as a significant incentive to increase investment and support sustainable development in the southern governorate.
