Extending Working Hours At Southern Wadi Araba Border Crossing As Of Next Sunday - Official
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Aqaba, Mar. 28 (Petra)-- The Wadi Araba South Border Crossing's extended operation hours will go into effect next Sunday, according to Hamza Al-Haj Hassan, Deputy Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA). In collaboration with the relevant authorities, this decision is a part of continuous efforts to increase tourism throughout the Eid holiday season and ease passenger movement.
He clarified that an arrangement was made to increase the hours of operation by two on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, April 1. Travelers will be accepted until 10:00 PM at the Wadi Araba South Border Crossing and permitted to leave the Kingdom until 8:00 PM.
Al-Hajj Hassan affirmed that the Authority is keeping a careful eye on the number of passengers, adding that if more people are leaving the crossing, it will be considered to extend working hours if necessary. Any changes will be communicated to the appropriate authorities as soon as they occur.
He noted that the Eid al-Fitr season is a popular travel time since Aqaba welcomes a lot of tourists from both inside and outside the Kingdom, including Palestine, which stimulates the economy and raises demand for travel and lodging.
By streamlining transit processes and enhancing visitor services, Al-Hajj Hassan confirmed that the Authority is striving to create a welcoming and comfortable tourism atmosphere.
He underlined that this choice is in line with the Aqaba Authority's mission to promote the visitor experience, strengthen the local economy, and assist the tourism and business sectors.
