Powerful earthquake hits South of Panama, no casualties reported
(MENAFN) A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck south of Panama on Friday morning, as reported by the Institute of Geosciences at the University of Panama.
At 9:50 a.m. local time (1450 GMT), the earthquake hit with an epicenter 78 km off Coiba’s shore. Authorities have not reported any damage or injuries.
The earthquake was also documented by the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica, which reported that strong tremors were felt in the southern regions. Meanwhile, the capital, San Jose, and other central areas experienced only mild shaking, with no immediate reports of damage.
