Kuwait Embassies In Australia, Sweden Mark Nat'l Celebrations


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 28 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti embassies in Australia and Sweden have held celebrations marking the 64th and 34th anniversaries of the country's National Day and Liberation Day respectively.
In Australia, the Kuwaiti Embassy organized a reception in the capital, Canberra, marking the occasions, which was attended by many Australian officials, Arab and foreign diplomats, representatives of international organizations and Kuwaiti students.
Addressing the event, the embassy's Deputy Charge d'affaires Thamer Al-Khurainej congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the government and people of Kuwait on the country's national festivals.
He recalled to memory the historical role played by Australia in the liberation of the State of Kuwait from the Iraqi invasion in 1991, while commending deep relations between both countries.
In Sweden, the Kuwaiti Embassy held a reception on the occasion of Kuwait's National and Liberation Days. Several Sweden officials and accredited ambassadors and diplomats were present at the meeting.
The Kuwaiti Embassy's Deputy Charge d'affaires Counselor Abdullah Abu Sheiba conveyed heartfelt congratulations and greetings to the Kuwaiti political leadership on the national celebrations.
On this occasion, the Kuwaiti diplomat remembered with much pride the martyrs who had scarified themselves for the sake of the dear homeland. (end)
