Hamas Delegation, Led By Mousa Abu Marzook, To Visit Moscow

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is visiting the United States, while a senior Hamas official is set to lead a delegation to Moscow on Monday, February 3. The details of their meeting are not yet known.

Mousa Abu Marzook, a member of Hamas's Political bureau, and his delegation are expected to hold talks with Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials during their visit to Moscow.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu departed for the U.S. on Sunday to meet President Donald Trump. This visit is seen as an attempt to improve relations with Washington following tensions with the Biden administration over the Gaza conflict.

Netanyahu, who is the first foreign leader to visit Trump since his inauguration last month, embarks on this trip while a six-week ceasefire in Gaza remains in place. Negotiations for a second phase of the ceasefire are expected to begin this week.

Ahead of his departure, Netanyahu stated,“The decisions we made during the war have changed the face of the Middle East.” He further added,“I believe that with close cooperation with President Trump, we can change this map even more and for the better.”

The recent developments highlight the ongoing volatility in the Middle East, where geopolitical tensions and ceasefire agreements continue to shape the region's future. The involvement of Russia, Hamas, Israel, and the U.S. underscores the complex web of alliances and rivalries that influence the broader dynamics of the conflict.

The situation remains fragile as the region grapples with a delicate balance between peace efforts and the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict. While ceasefire talks provide a glimmer of hope, the evolving international relationships and military engagements in Ukraine further complicate the stability of the region.
