Kuwaiti Commerce Min. Discusses With Egyptian Counterpart Common Issues


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry, Khalifa Al-Ajeel, discussed ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation with Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan Al-Khatib.
In a statement to KUNA, the Ministry of Commerce said that Minister Al-Ajeel received his Egyptian counterpart on Sunday as part of his official visit to Kuwait to participate in the first session of the Kuwaiti-Egyptian Joint Ministerial Trade Committee.
The ministry added that the two ministers discussed the items on the agenda of the joint committee, which aims to promote economic cooperation, overcome obstacles for investors, and increase the volume of trade between Kuwait and Egypt.
The statement quoted Minister Al-Ajeel as confirming Kuwaitآ's commitment to strengthening its economic partnership with Egypt, highlighting the importance of the joint committee in opening new horizons for cooperation between the public and private sectors in both countries. He also emphasized Kuwaitآ's support for initiatives that contribute to developing bilateral trade and investment relations.
On his part, Minister Al-Khatib expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and stressed the importance of the committee in facilitating investment and enhancing cooperation across various economic sectors. He also reviewed promising investment opportunities in Egypt that Kuwaiti companies could benefit from.
The work of the joint ministerial trade committee is set to begin tomorrow (Monday), where it will discuss areas of trade and investment cooperation, opportunities to strengthen economic partnerships, and coordination around joint economic exhibitions and events, which will include the agreed recommendations and outcomes between the two sides.
