(MENAFN) On Saturday, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Palestinian Authority (PA), and the Arab League (AL) issued a joint statement in Cairo condemning any attempt to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank. The statement followed a meeting in the Egyptian capital, attended by senior diplomats from Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, as well as high-ranking officials from the PA and the AL.
During the meeting, the participants reaffirmed their commitment to working alongside U.S. President Donald Trump's administration to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, based on the two-state solution. This reflected their continued support for peace efforts in the region while emphasizing the importance of upholding Palestinian rights.
The joint statement also expressed strong support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights. It firmly rejected any efforts to displace Palestinians, whether through eviction or any attempts to transfer or remove them from their land under any circumstances. The stance highlighted the importance of safeguarding Palestinian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Additionally, the statement called on the international community to coordinate efforts aimed at planning and implementing a comprehensive reconstruction process for Gaza. The goal of this initiative is to improve the daily lives of Palestinians and address the issue of internal displacement, ensuring a more stable and prosperous future for the region.
