Rescuers in Philippines search for missing fishers in Quezon province


(MENAFN) Rescuers in the Philippines are currently searching for two male fishers who went missing after their motorboat sank in the waters off Quezon province, located southeast of Manila. The incident occurred at dawn on Saturday, and local Police provided updates on Sunday regarding the search efforts.

The motorboat, which was carrying six male fishers, capsized after crashing into a concrete post of a bridge around 4:30 a.m. local time. The collision caused the boat to eventually submerge in the waters near Tagkawayan town.

While the search and rescue operation was underway, rescuers were able to successfully save four of the fishers. These four individuals were brought to safety and have been accounted for. However, two other fishers remain missing, and their whereabouts are currently unknown.

Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate the two missing men. The incident has prompted concern for the safety of fishers in the area, and rescue teams are working tirelessly to recover the remaining individuals. The situation remains ongoing as the search continues in the waters off Quezon province.
