All Options On The Table To Prevent Iran From Acquiring Nuclear Weapons: Congress Resolution

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) A group of Democratic and Republican lawmakers in the U.S. House and Senate have introduced a resolution on Friday saying all option should be considered to address Iran's nuclear threat to the US, Israel and allies.

Iran has consistently claimed that it is not seeking nuclear weapons and is only conducting peaceful scientific research. However, last year, the CIA announced that Tehran had not yet made a definitive decision to build a nuclear bomb, though Israel maintains that the Islamic Republic is pursuing these weapons.

In September of last year, the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) reported that activities at two Iranian nuclear sites,“Sanjaran” and“Golab Darreh,” had increased significantly. According to satellite imagery provided by Western intelligence sources, Iranian experts who had previously worked on nuclear weapons projects in the early 2000s have resumed activity at these two secret sites over the past 18 months.

These sites have played a key role in Iran's early efforts to develop and test systems that could be used in the construction of nuclear weapons.

The U.S. and its allies remain concerned about the potential for Iran to develop nuclear weapons, leading to heightened international scrutiny and calls for stronger measures to prevent further advancements in Iran's nuclear capabilities.

The resolution by U.S. lawmakers comes amid ongoing diplomatic tensions and the continued uncertainty surrounding Iran's intentions.

As the situation evolves, further diplomatic engagement may be necessary to address the growing concerns about Iran's nuclear program and the broader implications for regional security and global stability. The international community continues to monitor Iran's nuclear activities closely, with the hope of finding a peaceful solution to prevent nuclear proliferation.
