Qatar participates in COP16 summit held in Riyadh


(MENAFN) Qatar is taking part in the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) which is being conducted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from December 2 to 13, the current year.

Qatar’s delegation is managed by Minister of Environment and Climate Change H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie.

The Minister took part in the ministerial conversation on drought resilience, conducted under the title “From Geneva to Riyadh and beyond: Enhancing global and national policy instruments for a proactive drought management approach”.

The ministerial speech emphasizes the immediate demand for modernized strategies to resolve the systemic effects of drought. In his address at the ministerial conversation, Subaie highlighted Qatar’s dedication to participating significantly to international efforts to develop resilience to drought.
