Phillips 66 Close The Los Angeles Refinery At The End Of 2025
Phillips 66, one of the largest independent refineries in the United States by capitalization, announced the closure of its Los Angeles refinery at the end of 2025, Azernews reports.
As stated in the message of the American company, this refinery, built more than a hundred years ago, accounts for 8% of all refining capacity in California.
The closure will affect about 600 employees of the company and
300 contractors working at the enterprise.
The decision to shut down the refinery was caused by the
uncertainty of the market situation, the press release notes.
