India Establishes Secretariat For Global Biofuels Alliance
The GBA, launched at the 2023 G20 summit, aims to promote the use of biofuels worldwide. The agreement, reported by Trinity Mirror , a partner of TV BRICS , provides a platform for Indian and international experts to deepen collaboration on biofuel technologies at a global level.
The establishment of the GBA Secretariat in India will also create job opportunities for Indian experts and provide a platform to showcase the country's achievements in the field of biofuels.
The agreement will also provide the GBA with the necessary legal privileges to operate effectively under Indian law.
The Global Biofuels Alliance has already united 27 member countries and 12 international organisations to work together on issues related to feedstock availability, infrastructure development, and biofuel promotion. The GBA will also focus on developing common technical standards and unified certification and standardisation of biofuel quality.
The creation of the GBA was one of the priorities of India's G20 presidency. The alliance aims to strengthen markets, facilitate global biofuels trade, and provide technical support to national biofuels programmes around the world.
