Iran issues warning to Israel against any "new adventurism" targeting Lebanon

Israel has attributed the attack on a football field in the town of Majdal Shams, located in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, to Lebanon's Hezbollah group.

Israel's military spokesman, Daniel Hagari, stated on Saturday that Israeli intelligence clearly links Hezbollah to the deadly attack, claiming that the group is responsible for the killing of innocent children in Majdal Shams and promising a response. However, Hezbollah has "categorically denied" any involvement in the incident, which has escalated the already heightened tensions between the two adversaries.

On Sunday, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani referenced Hezbollah's denial and accused Israel of attempting to divert both public opinion and global attention away from its actions in the Gaza Strip, where Israeli forces have killed more than 39,000 Palestinians since October 7. Kanaani described Israel's claims about the Majdal Shams attack as a "fabricated scenario," arguing that Tel Aviv lacks the moral authority to make judgments about the incident.

Kanaani called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to support Lebanon and the region's stability and security against what he termed as the "adventurism of the aggressive Zionist regime," referring to Israel.
