Kamala Harris Officially Announces 2024 US Presidential Candidacy

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Kamala Harris, the Vice President of the United States, has officially announced her candidacy for the 2024 U.S. presidential election.

On Friday, July 26, Harris shared the news on social media platform X, stating,“I am officially declaring my candidacy for the presidency of the United States.”

Harris also expressed confidence in her campaign team's ability to secure victory in the November 2024 election.

Nearly all Democratic leaders have supported Harris's candidacy, with former President Barack Obama and his wife recently joining the list of her prominent backers.

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, former President Donald Trump remains a key figure in the political landscape.

His campaign has been marked by significant media attention and public debate, influencing both party strategies and voter perceptions.

Although Donald Trump's popularity, which had peaked following an unsuccessful assassination attempt, has significantly decreased with Kamala Harris's entry into the race, he still holds a 2% lead over his electoral rival.

Previous polls (before Joe Biden withdrew from the election) showed that Trump had an 8% higher popularity rating compared to Biden among American voters. However, with Biden's withdrawal and Harris's emergence as a contender, this 8% margin has narrowed to 2%.
