Azerbaijan Apprehends Plenty Of Foreigners For Illegal Migration


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 26. Azerbaijan has detained 34 more foreigners in connection with Police measures against illegal migration, Trend reports, referring to the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry.

The measures of employees of the Department for Combating Illegal Migration of the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry continue in Baku city at different addresses concerning foreigners who do not have documents authorizing the right to reside on the territory of the country.

Consequently, another 34 foreigners were detained for committing the above offenses. It was found that five of the detained persons, in addition to unregistered residents, were engaged in illegal labor activity.

Furthermore, it was also found that these foreigners were promised to provide illegal transfers to European countries, ostensibly using Azerbaijan as a transit, in exchange for money. The foreigners were deceived as a result.

Following the relevant article of the Code of Administrative Offenses, a protocol was drawn up and submitted to the appropriate authorities.

To note, since the beginning of 2024, police officers have identified 161 foreign citizens who do not have documents entitling them to reside in Azerbaijan and who fail to comply with the rules of registration while moving from one place to another.
