'Your Plans Won't Materialise,': PM Modi's Big Warning To Pakistan From Kargil Vijay Diwas Event In Drass


(MENAFN- Live Mint) Kargil Vijay Diwas: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 26 paid homage to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty during the Kargil war 25 years ago. Commemorating the Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Prime Minister visited the Kargil War Memorial and paid tribute to the war heroes on the 25th anniversary of India's victory over Pakistan.

The Prime Minister addressed the troops and other attendees on the occasion. Without naming Pakistan , PM Modi warned the neighbouring country that its nefarious plans would not materialise.

“Pakistan has failed in all its nefarious attempts in the past. But Pakistan has not learned anything from its history. It is trying to keep itself relevant with the help of terrorism and proxy war. Today I am speaking from a place where the masters of terror can hear my voice directly, I want to tell these patrons of terrorism that their nefarious intentions will never succeed. Our soldiers will crush terrorism with full force and the enemy will be given a befitting reply,” Modi said in his address.

Kargil Vijay Diwas , observed annually on July 26, commemorates the success of Operation Vijay in 1999. In the battle, Indian forces successfully reclaimed strategic positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir that Pakistani soldiers and terrorists had infiltrated.

The Kargil War Memorial, also known as the Drass War Memorial, was built by the Indian Army in memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives. It is located in the Kargil district of the Union Territory of Ladakh near the Line of Control (LoC).

The Prime Minister also carried out the first blast of the Shinkun La Tunnel Project virtually. TheShinkun La Tunnel Project consists of a 4.1-km-long twin-tube tunnel which will be constructed at an altitude of around 15,800 feet on the Nimu-Padum-Darcha road to provide all-weather connectivity to Leh.
