Turkey FM assures Turkey is seeking stronger relation, security co-operation with Arab countries

(MENAFN) In an exclusive interview with Sky News Arabia, Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized Turkey's commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties with Arab countries, highlighting Syria and Egypt among key partners. Fidan expressed Turkey's readiness to engage in dialogue with Damascus at any level, signaling a proactive stance towards regional diplomacy. Additionally, he confirmed preparations for the upcoming visit of Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Turkey, underscoring efforts to foster bilateral relations.

Addressing broader regional concerns, Fidan commended Arab nations for their initiatives aimed at resolving conflicts in the Gaza Strip involving Israel. However, he cautioned against the perpetual cycle of violence in the Middle East, stressing the necessity of a two-state solution to ensure long-term stability.

"Our relations with our Arab brothers have reached a significantly positive level. While disagreements are inevitable, it is crucial for countries to manage these differences prudently within a coherent strategic framework," stated Foreign Minister Fidan. "Turkey aims to establish mechanisms that will elevate our relationships to a more advanced stage and preempt potential crises, particularly in the realm of security. We envision addressing regional security challenges at their core by forging alliances with Arab countries."

Fidan's remarks underscore Turkey's proactive approach in regional affairs, seeking not only to strengthen diplomatic ties but also to establish robust security frameworks aimed at fostering stability and cooperation among Arab nations. The initiatives outlined reflect Turkey's strategic vision for regional security and its commitment to playing a constructive role in Middle Eastern geopolitics.
