Astana, Baku Developing Project To Export Green Energy From Kazakhstan Via Azerbaijan - Ambassador


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 23. Astana and Baku are developing a project to export green energy from Kazakhstan through Azerbaijan, said Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, Trend reports.

He made the remark at the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan tourism forum, organized in the embassy building.

According to the ambassador, mutually beneficial close trade and economic cooperation have been established between the countries.

At the same time, Bayel noted joint projects that play an important role not only for the two countries but also for the entire region (in particular, the importance of the Middle Corridor).

The ambassador also touched upon cooperation in the field of tourism and presented statistical data.

"Last year, 58,000 Kazakh tourists visited Azerbaijan. From January through June 2024 alone, more than 38,000 Kazakh tourists visited the country. In general, in terms of the growth dynamics of the tourist flow to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan is in third place after China and India.

To note, on May 1, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the integration of energy systems in Tashkent, which is based on the export of green energy from these countries to Europe through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Black Sea, Romania, Hungary, and further, if possible, to other EU countries.
