Tajikistan, US Discuss Collaboration In Transport Sector


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, July 19. The Minister of Transport of Tajikistan Azim Ibrahim, and the US Ambassador to Tajikistan Manuel Micaller have met to discuss collaboration, Trend reports.

During the meeting, Ibrahim highlighted the crucial role of ICT in modernizing Tajikistan's transport sector.

"We are grateful to the US Agency for International Development (USAID) for supporting our efforts to digitize the road transport system. We've developed an electronic system to enhance transparency and efficiency in issuing transport documents. This system will automate business processes, speed up decision-making, and improve access to information for carriers," he said.

The sides expressed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in digitalization and logistics to expand economic and trade relations between Tajikistan and the US.

During the meeting, it was underscored that US-Tajik relations have evolved significantly in various sectors, including security, economy, energy, transport, and humanitarian fields. The two countries have established mutually beneficial partnerships through USAID programs and other international organizations.
