Ukraine, Slovenia Sign Security Agreement


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In Woodstock, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Slovenia Robert Golob signed the Agreement on cooperation in the field of security and long-term support between Ukraine and the Republic of Slovenia.

That's according to the President's Office , Ukrinform reports.

Slovenia has already provided Ukraine with 13 packages of military aid (including in 2024) and intends to maintain this level of support throughout the 10-year term of the Agreement. The Republic of Slovenia also undertakes to meet Ukraine's urgent needs to strengthen its security capabilities.

Slovenia will assist the country in training within the framework of the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM). The countries will cooperate in finding sources of financing to help implement projects of the Ukrainian defense industry.

Separate parts of the document refer to non-military support. In particular, Slovenia will additionally allocate EUR 5 million for humanitarian aid, economic recovery and the "Grain from Ukraine" humanitarian initiative.

In addition, the agreement promotes deeper cooperation in the fields of information and cyber security, fight against organized crime, intelligence and counterintelligence, as well as humanitarian demining.

The document clearly enshrines Slovenia's comprehensive support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO.

In total, Ukraine has already signed 25 security agreements: with the UK, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Japan, the USA, the EU, Estonia, Lithuania , Poland, Luxembourg, Romania, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia.
