Google And Meity Partner To Train 10,000 Indian Startups In AI Technologies

(MENAFN- KNN India) Bengaluru, Jul 18 (KNN) In a significant move to bolster India's AI ecosystem, Google has unveiled a suite of cutting-edge AI models, tools, and programs tailored for the country's burgeoning developer community.

The announcement came during the highly anticipated Google I/O Connect Bengaluru 2024 event, underscoring the tech giant's commitment to fostering AI innovation in one of its largest developer bases globally.

With over 1.5 million developers worldwide already leveraging Google's Gemini models through Google AI Studio, the company has set its sights on democratizing AI access in India. The strategy focuses on three pivotal areas: multimodal capabilities, multilingual support, and mobile optimization.

In a landmark collaboration, Google is partnering with MeitY Startup Hub to provide AI training to 10,000 startups across India. This initiative aims to equip emerging tech companies with the skills and knowledge necessary to harness the power of AI effectively.

To further support the AI startup ecosystem, Google has pledged up to USD 350,000 in Google Cloud credits for eligible startups. This financial boost is designed to offset the substantial costs associated with cloud infrastructure and computational resources crucial for AI development and deployment.

The tech behemoth is also expanding access to its advanced AI models, including Gemini and Gemma. Of particular note is the Gemini 1.5 Pro model, which boasts an impressive 2 million token context window-a feature now available to all Indian developers after being previously waitlisted.

Google DeepMind India is introducing new language tools, reflecting the company's commitment to addressing India's linguistic diversity. These tools are expected to enhance natural language processing capabilities across various Indian languages.

In addition to model access and language tools, Google is introducing AI-powered features to streamline the software development process. These enhancements are designed to boost productivity and innovation among developers.

Throughout its announcements, Google emphasised its unwavering commitment to responsible AI development and deployment. This focus on ethical AI practices aligns with growing global concerns about the societal impacts of artificial intelligence.
