The Southern Regional Centre of the Human Rights Commissioner
(Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan organised an educational
event on "Citizens' Right to Vote" in connection with the upcoming
extraordinary parliamentary elections of the Republic of
Azerbaijan, Azernews reports.
At the event, attended by employees of various relevant state
institutions' regional representatives, the head of the Southern
Regional Centre of the Ombudsman, Z. Ismayilov, discussed topics
such as "Ensuring Citizens' Right to Vote," "Principles of the
Right to Vote," "Organisation of Elections," "Election Process and
Stages," and "Active and Passive Voting Rights." He emphasised that
the situation regarding the protection of citizens' voting rights
in the country is constantly monitored and that the Ombudsman's
institution regularly conducts a series of legal awareness
activities in this field.
The event continued with discussions, and participants'
questions on the topic were answered.
