PUBG MOBILE WORLD CUP SETS THE TONE AS ONE OF THE LARGEST TITLES DURING THE ESPORTS WORLD CUP IN SAUDI ARABIA

(MENAFN- Hill & Knowlton) Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 16th July 2024: PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s leading mobile games, is thrilled to announce its large-scale participation at the Esports World Cup set to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The tournament called the 2024 PUBG MOBILE World Cup (PMWC), is set to bring some of the best global talents to the Kingdom, complemented with a prize pool of $3 million, one of the largest prize pools in the game’s history, which also includes an additional $800,000 that will be distributed during qualifier rounds.
The Esports World Cup began on July 4th and will continue till August 25th, 2024, Being the home to the largest esports and gaming festival in the world. While the eight-week-long event will be home to a wide variety of gaming tournaments, events, activities, and more. The PMWC taking place from 19th to 28th of July, will be a part of these tournaments and will begin with 28 teams, including Powr Esports, one of the largest and most influential esports organizations, who have their influence not just in Saudi Arabia, but the overall MENA region as well.
Powr Esports, an official PUBG MOBILE partner, also has a tailored in-game Powr Villa in WOW mode, while Shongxbong, one of the top creators from Powr, recently had his exclusive voice pack added to the game as well. Powr’s team also includes key player AlHage, one of the best Arab players in the region, who currently ranks as one of the top PUBG MOBILE’s players worldwide.
The PMWC will be played across three stages. The Group Stage, from 19th to 21st July, will have 24 teams battle it out where the top 12 will advance to the Main Stage while the remaining 12 will advance to the Survival Stage. The Survival Stage, from 23rd to 24th July, will see the previous 12 teams battle with 1 team each from PMSL region (SEA, Americas, CSA, EMEA), of which the leading 4 will advance to the Main Stage. The remaining 12 will be eliminated.
Finally, the Main Stage event, from 26th to 28th July, will see the top 12 teams from the Group Stage and 4 teams from the Survival Stage battle it out for the top spot. The winning champion will get their region an extra qualifying spot at the 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship.
The PMWC in the Esports World Cup is set to be a landmark event that will put Saudi Arabia on the map as an esports hub. With its impressive prize pool and prominent player base, this tournament promises to elevate the standards of mobile esports overall setting a new tone for the industry. To celebrate the PMWC tournament with global fans and players, marking its first occurrence in the EWC in Saudi Arabia, PUBG MOBILE has collaborated with local rising star Mishaal Tamer to release a new song titled "Winner Winner” which will be performed live for the first time during the PMWC finals stage! Mishaal Tamer will also perform the PUBG MOBILE song along with four of his own songs during the PMWC finals on the 26th of July.
