1775 -- The first postal trip launched from Kuwait to the Syrian city of Aleppo.
1932 -- Smallpox was declared as an epidemic until year-end. It has claimed more than 3,000 lives, mostly of children. The Kuwaitis have called 1932 "the year of smallpox."

1961 -- Kuwait Amir sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issued a law imposing several forms of taxes.
1964 -- Deputy Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issued a law regulating trade agencies and restricting commercial activities in the country to Kuwaitis.
1967 -- The first edition of the weekly magazine "Al-Yagadha" was issued.
1967 -- The first edition of "Al-Nahdha" magazine has hit the stands.
1978 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issued a law setting rules for working out state budgets.
1987 -- A bomb went off in Salhiya district near office of the French airways, killing two people.
1991 -- Foreign Ministers of Damascus Declaration held their 4th meeting in Kuwait, with the communique pledging adherence to the UN charter, Arab and international conventions. Signatories are the GCC states, Egypt and Syria.
1997 -- MPs grilled Minister of Finance Nasser Al-Roudhan over purported mishandling of public funds.
2000 -- Kuwait reaped 15 medals in the sixth Cairo Radio and Television Festival, coming second after Egypt.
2002 -- Kuwait and South Africa signed a MoU for military cooperation.
2003 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah issued a decree into law delaying municipal elections for a year.
2010 -- Kuwaiti doctors conducted a gastric sleeve surgery without any cuts at Jaber Al-Ahmad Armed Forces Hospital.
2010 -- Former MP Humoud Nasser Al-Jeri died at the age of 68.
2012 -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development allocated a USD 70 million worth of loans for Ethiopia, Lesotho, Senegal and Kenya.
2013 -- Kuwait Oil Company discovered a new field containing commercial amounts of oil and gas in Kabad in the west of the country.
2017 -- The Kuwaiti Olympic champion Naqa Al-Mutairi won a gold medal in the 100-m wheelchair race during the world special tournament held in London.
2021 -- Kuwait launched the first aerial bridge to supply Tunisian hospitals with medical equipment. (end)
