(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) The documentary film“Dostoevsky Intercontinental,” produced by the TV BRICS joint editorial board, received a diploma“For Contribution to the Popularisation of Russian Culture in the BRICS Countries” at the 30th anniversary of the International film Festival“Literature and Cinema” in Gatchina.

Dostoevsky Intercontinental, represented by Nina Zimakova, Executive Producer of the International media Network, was one of 56 entries screened during the five-day competition program held from July 3rd to 7th.

Alongside the film screenings, the festival offered attendees a variety of creative meetings and masterclasses in various venues across Gatchina. The event attracted an estimated 5,000 visitors.

“Dostoevsky Intercontinental” is a collaborative project between TV BRICS and media partners from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It marks the first large-scale international documentary produced by the TV BRICS joint editorial team. The film features renowned Dostoevsky scholars and actors from the BRICS countries.

According to Ivan Zakharenko, the film's director and Head of Thematic Broadcasting and Special Media Projects Department at TV BRICS, the international audience has shown significant interest in the
film. He attributes this to the enduring appeal of Dostoevsky's work:“This is a timeless classic that belongs to the entire world,” he remarked.

“Dostoevsky's creative and philosophical legacy continues
to influence
contemporary authors, shaping their subject choices, narrative structures, and reinterpretations. The first film delves deeply into the national interpretations of Dostoevsky's phenomenon. We are exploring the possibility of creating a trilogy with additional documentaries focusing on Tolstoy and Chekhov,” said Zakharenko.

“TV BRICS is constantly expanding its network of media partners globally, paving the way for even more exciting international collaborations.”

Held for the first time during the summer season, the Literature and Cinema Festival received over 200 film submissions
that
were
evaluated
by a jury of renowned artists.
