Measles Claims 160 Lives In Afghanistan: WHO


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): One hundred and sixty people have died from measles in Afghanistan during ongoing year, the World health Organisation (WHO) has said.

Expressing concerns about the spread of measles in Afghanistan the world health body said measles disease has spread in Afghanistan now compared to the past year.

According to the WHO, 36,618 people infected by measles in 2024 out of which 29,326 are below the age of five children while 16,285 are girls.

Most of measles cases recorded in Khost province.

Besides the spread of Measles, the WHO also expressed concerns over the lack of access to health facilities in remote areas.
