Dr Arshad Hussain Joins Springer Nature As Guest Editor Of 'Discover Mental Health' Journal


(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- Amid growing global mental health advocacy, Dr Arshid Hussain, a noted psychiatrist and professor in the Department of Psychiatry at government Medical College Srinagar has joined the editorial team of Springer Nature, a leading global academic publishing house as Guest Editor to the Journal 'Discover Mental Health'.

This open-access journal is indexed in PubMedCentral and SCOPUS. It is renowned for its expansive coverage across the trans-disciplinary fields of mental health, including theoretical and fundamental sciences, clinical sciences, public health and the socioeconomic, biological, and environmental factors influencing mental health.

As global voices grow for seeking integration of Mental Health into policy, processes and actions to prevent and control NCDs, Dr. Arshad will be the Guest Editor of the journal's series, 'Digital Innovations, Mental and Behavioral Health Strategies to Reduce the Burden of Non-communicable Diseases in Diverse Geographies and Populations.'

This series focuses on identifying novel digital interventions and innovations in managing and preventing non-communicable diseases that demonstrate transformative potential to improve human health and wellbeing.

Dr. Arshad, a professor at the Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS) Kashmir, has research experience spanning two and a half decades. He has previously served as the Guest Editor for the Journal of Medical Sciences' COVID-19 issue.

In addition to his role at Springer Nature, Dr. Arshad is on the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Psychiatry, alongside many other eminent psychiatrists in the country. Dr. Hussain is also an Assistant Editor of the Indian Journal of Social Psychiatry.
