UK Voters Start Casting Ballots In Crucial General Elections


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) LONDON, July 4 (KUNA) -- UK voters started casting their ballots on Thursday to elect 650 Members of Parliament (MPs).
According to government data, there are over 46 million voters registered, set to vote in some 40,000 polling stations across the UK to elect representatives of the House of Commons, the lower house of Parliament.
According to (YouGov) final predications, 39 percent of the votes would go to the labor Party, 22 percent for the Conservatives, 15 percent for Reform UK, 12 percent for the Liberal Democrats and 7 percent for the Greens.
As soon as voting ends, exit polls will begin to provide an initial snapshot of the election results, offering early insights into the potential makeup of the next government.
Newly elected MPs are set to take their oath on Tuesday and elect a new Speaker of the House of Commons on July 17 during the opening of the parliamentary session by King Charles III. (end)
