Moscow hits highest temperature in 134 years amid heat wave across Russia


(MENAFN) On July 2nd, Moscow experienced an unprecedented heatwave with temperatures soaring to a record-breaking "+32" degrees Celsius, marking the highest recorded temperature in the city in 134 years. Roman Vilfand, the scientific director of the Russian Meteorological Center, confirmed that this recent heat surpassed the previous record set on July 2nd, 1890, when temperatures reached "+31.9" degrees Celsius.

The scorching temperatures are not limited to Moscow alone; cities across Russia are also witnessing extreme heat, with some areas seeing temperatures exceed 35 degrees Celsius this month. This exceptional heatwave has prompted concerns about its impact on public health, agriculture, and infrastructure across the country.
