The team's departure was postponed due to the havoc wreaked by Hurricane Beryl. This came after their thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in the final on Saturday.

The team is returning on a special Air India charter flight, AIC24WC - Air India Champions 24 World Cup. The flight, which departed from Barbados around 4:30 am local time and is expected to arrive in Delhi on Thursday at 6 AM IST.

Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados resumed operations on Tuesday after being affected by the storm. Originally, the Indian team was scheduled to depart at 6 pm local time on July 2 and arrive in Delhi at 7:45 pm IST on Wednesday.

Upon their return, the players will be felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, the details of this event are yet to be finalized.

Hurricane Beryl, now a Category 4 storm down from Category 5, is moving towards Jamaica, but its earlier impact caused significant delays for the Indian team.
