Kyrgyz President Met With Visiting UN Chief


(MENAFN- Nam News Network) BISHKEK, Jul 3 (NNN-KNA) – Kyrgyz President, Sadyr Japarov, yesterday, held talks with visiting United Nations (UN) Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported.

Japarov said that, Kyrgyzstan is implementing the UN sustainable development goals, which have become the basis of the country's state policy, and are included in the long-term national development strategy.

The president noted, the immediate plans for the implementation of such large projects as CASA-1000, which is aimed at connecting the energy systems of Central Asia with South Asia, and the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, which will facilitate fast and efficient trade between the participating countries and stimulate economic growth.

Japarov confirmed the country's desire to further strengthen its close partnership with the UN and all member states, in order to strengthen international peace and security, and ensure sustainable development and human rights.

For his part, Guterres praised Kyrgyzstan as an example for other countries, when it came to fulfilling international obligations, adding that, the UN is always ready to support the country in all ongoing reforms.– NNN-KNA
