UN Security Council Holds Briefing On Palestinian Issue Tuesday

New York, July 2 (Petra) – The United Nations Security Council is set to convene on Tuesday for an open briefing, followed by closed consultations, on "The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question."
Council members will hear a briefing from Sigrid Kaag, the UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator (SHRC) for Gaza, regarding the implementation of UN Resolution 2720, which pertains to Gaza reconstruction efforts.
Furthermore, the Security Council president for this month announced that a ministerial-level discussion on the Middle East will take place on July 17. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is set to chair this high-level meeting.
