Delegation from Afghanistan's central bank to attend 22nd IFSB annual session

(MENAFN) A delegation from Afghanistan's central bank, Da Afghanistan bank (DAB), has set off for Djibouti to attend the 22nd annual session of the Islamic Financial Service Board (IFSB), according to a statement released by the bank on Saturday. The delegation is headed by Hedayatullah Badri, the acting governor of Afghanistan's central bank, who will represent the nation at this important financial assembly.

The IFSB's annual session is scheduled for July 1 and 2, and is organized in collaboration with Djibouti's central bank. The primary aim of this session is to bolster the Islamic financial services industry by facilitating comprehensive discussions on various aspects of Islamic finance. During the session, delegates will review and approve the board's previous year's executions and financial reports. This process is essential for ensuring transparency and accountability within the organization.

In addition to the administrative aspects, the session will provide a platform for member countries to share insights and strategies that can drive the growth and development of Islamic finance. The gathering is expected to address key challenges and opportunities within the industry, fostering a collaborative environment for innovation and improvement. By participating in these discussions, Afghanistan aims to strengthen its ties with other Islamic financial institutions and enhance its own financial infrastructure.

Hedayatullah Badri and his team will engage with other global financial leaders to explore new avenues for cooperation and investment. This interaction is particularly significant for Afghanistan, as it seeks to integrate more deeply into the global financial system and leverage Islamic finance principles to support its economic development. The outcomes of the session are anticipated to have a positive impact on the Islamic financial services sector, contributing to its resilience and adaptability in the face of global economic challenges.
