Turkish Pres. Urges Action To Achieve Peace In Palestine


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ANKARA, June 27 (KUNA) -- Turkiye's President Recep Erdogan called on the international community on Thursday to use its weight and bring to a halt the Israeli occupation's war and achieve peace in Palestine through the implementation of the two-state solution.
In a joint press conference with the Estonian President Alar Karis, at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, Erdogan said that the Israeli Occupation massacres in Gaza are threatening regional and global stability, stressing that the existence of both states as the only solution.
The ones responsible for the atrocities in Gaza will be tried and held accountable for their actions according to international law, Erdogan said, affirming his country's continuous efforts to achieve a ceasefire and send in aid to relieve the suffering citizens in Gaza.
Regarding Turkiye's membership in the European Union (EU), Erdogan said that a full membership in the EU is a strategic objective that benefits both parties.
On his part, the Alar Karis highlighted Turkiye's important role in supporting security in the Baltic region and within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization
