Zimbabwe's Fish Production Rises To 33,000 Tonnes Annually

(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Zimbabwe's fish output has increased from 20,000 metric tonnes to 33,000 metric tonnes annually during the past 1.5 years.
The increase is a result of the government's Agriculture, Food Systems, and Rural Transformation Strategy, reported ZBC News, a partner of TV BRICS.
The Presidential Fisheries Scheme seeks to provide household access to reasonably priced protein and to promote trade by selling excess output.
Davis Marapira, Deputy Minister of Zimbabwe's Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development said that over the next five years, the nation's fish production is anticipated to rise even more, according to official projections.
The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) is helping to develop five fry-rearing centres at this time.
