IMF Reveals Turkmenistan's Real GDP Growth Forecast


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 25. TheInternational Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that the real growth ofTurkmenistan's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2024 will be 2.3percent, Trend reports.

According to official data, this amount increased by 0.2percentage points compared to the earlier October forecast (2.1percent).

At the same time, the IMF also predicts that Turkmenistan's realGDP will also remain stable at 2.3 percent in 2025.

The data also show that Turkmenistan's real GDP for the whole oflast year amounted to 2 percent, which is lower than forecasts for2024 and 2025.

Meanwhile, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedovrecently noted that the GDP growth rate of Turkmenistan fromJanuary through March 2024 remained stable at 6.3 percent.

The President added that during the specified period, the growthrate of Turkmenistan's industrial sector reached 4.7 percent, inthe transport and communications sector - 6.6 percent, in theservice sector - 7.6 percent, in trade - 8.2 percent, and inagriculture - 4.1 percent.
