Kyrgyzstan Keen On Establishing Direct Flights With Malaysia
(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, April 2. Kyrgyzstan iskeen on establishing direct flights with Malaysia by granting fifthfreedom air rights to Malaysian airlines, Trend reports.
This initiative was discussed during a meeting betweenKyrgyzstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zheenbek Kulubaev, andMalaysia's Minister of Transport, Lok Siew Fook, according to theMinistry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
The fifth freedom of the air is the right to operate flightsbetween two countries, provided that the final destination is thehome country of the airline.
Kulubaev emphasized that establishing direct air connectivitybetween the two countries would boost political, trade, economic,and cultural exchanges. Both sides expressed readiness tofacilitate not only passenger flights but also cargo transportationby air.
Additionally, the discussions included prospects for expandingtrade and economic ties and ensuring efficient transport andlogistics routes for goods transportation.
Following the meeting, both parties expressed interest incontinuing negotiations on establishing direct air connectionsbetween Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia.
To note, on April 1, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Foreign Affairsembarked on a two-day official visit to Malaysia. The first day ofthe visit included a meeting between the foreign ministers of bothcountries, during which a wide range of bilateral cooperationissues were discussed, spanning political, trade, economic, andcultural spheres.
Particular attention was given to fostering trade and economiccooperation, attracting investments, establishing direct air linksbetween the two countries, as well as enhancing relations in theeducation and halal industry sectors.
