MCIT Joins Digital Cooperation Organization

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Communications and Information technology (MCIT) formalised its membership in the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) by signing a charter during the 21st session of the Doha Forum 2023.
The event, themed“Building Shared Futures,” emphasised crucial domains such as cybersecurity, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and sustainability.
The charter was endorsed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology
H E Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, and Secretary-General of the DCO H E Deemah AlYahya. This charter underscores Qatar's dedication, as embodied by MCIT, to advancing the digital economy and promoting global collaboration in innovation, empowerment, and expediting digital transformation.
Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, emphasized the importance of signing the charter, stating,“The signing of the charter to join the Digital Cooperation Organization contributes to enhancing Qatar's role as a key player on the international level in the field of technology and digital innovation.
“It enables the exchange of experiences for digital technology startups and artificial intelligence, bridging cooperation and communication to allow youth and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and knowledge in the digital realms at both the regional and international levels.”
AlYahya welcomed Qatar's signing the Digital Cooperation Organization's Charter, emphasized Qatar's thought leadership and commitment to digital transformation, saying:“Qatar stands as a key global force in leveraging digital innovation for sustainable socio-economic development. The signing of the DCO Charter cements our mutual commitment to enabling digital prosperity for all. The DCO provides a global platform for digital cooperation, and together with Qatar, we will facilitate the growth and development of a sustainable and inclusive global digital economy. We are pleased to welcome Qatar to the Digital Cooperation Organization as a Member State and look forward to working together to achieve our shared goals.”
