Min. Al-Aiban Refutes MP Al-Azmi Claims Of Favoritism, Abuse Of Authority

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- Minister of Commerce and Industry, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Aiban said on Tuesday that he had committed no violations while attending to his ministerial duties, refuting MP Hamdan Al-Azmi's claims of misuse of power and favoritism.
While being grilled by MP Al-Azmi during the National Assembly session, the Minister criticized the MP for not verifying information regarding alleged favoritism and other lists of alleged violations, saying that Al-Azmi's motion was based on personal gains rather than public interest.
MP Al-Azmi, on his part, indicated that the motion he submitted focused on issues of conflict of interest, abuse of authority, negligence, financial and administrative violations, failure to manage the state fund for small and medium-size enterprises, and lack of commodities' prices management.
He accused the minister of "endangering the country" via abuse of power and hiring unqualified individuals in various entities under his jurisdiction.
He also criticized Minister Al-Aiban for failing to control prices of commodities during his tenure. (pickup previous)
