Edgar Liu

Edgar Liu is a Senior Research Fellow at the Sustainability Platform (formerly the Healthy Urban Environments Collaboratory) of the Sydney Partnership for Health, Education. Research and Enterprise (Maridulu Budyari Gumal) . He is also a Senior Research Fellow at City Futures Research Centre, Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture, UNSW Sydney.

His research interests are in the humanistic and social aspects of housing and urban life. He is co-editor to 3 books - Place and Placelessness Revisited (Routledge, May 2016), Multigenerational Family Living (Routledge, November 2016), and Ageing in Place (Edward Elgar, November 2020) - as well as project manager and researcher to a number of externally funded research projects on public estate renewals, the community housing sector, and barriers that lower income households face in reducing carbon consumption.

Prior to joining City Futures in 2009, Edgar previously worked at the not-for-profit organisation Western Sydney Information and Research Service (WESTIR Ltd) as a Social Research and Information Officer.
