District Water Sports Event Concludes In Srinagar


(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) SRINAGAR- The 20th District Water Skiing Championship concluded at the Water Sports Center, Nigeen Lake here on Thursday. The three-day event was organized by J&K Water Skiing Association in association with J&K Sports Council.

The event was inaugurated on the Ausgust 8 by Divisional Sports Officer Kashmir, J&K Sports Council, Muzaffer Hussain Wani. He was accompanied by other officials of the Sports Council besides the office bearers of the concerned association and eminent citizens of the area.

During the closing ceremony apart from the facilitation of the winners, the demos for water surfing, water skiing, mano water skiing, waterboarding, water skiing, double skiing, zigzag skiing, and criss-cross skiing.

The players from the districts of Srinagar, Bandipora Badgam Ganderbal, and Baramulla took part in the event.

At the closing ceremony, Muzaffar Husain Wani presided over the function as the chief guest. He was flanked by the Principal B.Ed college Bandipora, Prince Parvaiz Ahmed as the guest of honor.

While speaking on the occasion, Muzaffar Wani stressed the active participation in sports for the holistic personality development of the youth that can keep a check on the other social evils among the youth.

The guest of honor, Prince Parvaiz Ahmed appreciated the role played by the J&K Sports Council in engaging youth of the union territory in purposeful sports activities.

During the closing ceremony, the mementos were presented to the dignitaries by Rafiq-u-din Khan and Ghulam Mustafa, the general secretary and organizing secretary of the concerned association.
