Ukraine lacks major air defense weaponries

(MENAFN) The chief assistant to Ukraine’s leader has alleged that Ukraine’s army campaign is being weighed down by a shortage of arms, and associates need to offer extra equipment to efficiently deal with Russia.

“From the point of view of battlefield parity, there is indeed a significant shortage,” Mikhail Podoliak declared on Friday, live on TV.

Kyiv requires extra weaponry bullets as well as long-range missiles, and is dealing with a “certain shortage” of de-mining equipment, he also stated. The army is also having problems fixing harmed shields.

Podoliak declared that the major supplies Ukraine still needs are anti-aircraft systems in addition to sophisticated fighter jets, precisely the US-made F-16. Kiev has been requesting its Western supporters to offer F-16s for months, insisting that the fighters will assist “win the war” on Russia.

Washington and its associates, however, have up to now confirmed unwilling to offer the jets, with US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan proposing the airplane will have only a narrow effect on the battleground because of the wide use of air defense methods in Ukraine.
