Twelve lost their lives due to fireworks explosion
(MENAFN) Representatives stated that the murder toll caused by a robust bang inside a warehouse stocked with fireworks in southern Thailand reached a dozen people on Sunday.
The establishments of the Narathiwat district, which shares a boundary with Malaysia, stated that 121 people were injured and that the explosion demolished 292 homes. They also noted that the majority of the wounded have been released from medical accommodations, and merely one person stays in a serious state.
The occurrence happened in the village of Muno in the Sungai Kolok province on Saturday. Manager Sanan Pong-aksorn informed journalists that the warehouse, which is located in front of a packed market, was firstly utilized as a grocery shop. More than 5 tons of fireworks had been kept in the stocks, representatives stated.
In line with the law enforcement, the explosion was most probably initiated by a spark from a fusing torch when an employee was mending a steel shelf. The domestic law enforcement head stated that the landlord of the storage space was accused with carelessness.
