US responds to Russia’s nuclear weapons transfer

(MENAFN) The capital Washington does not see any indicators that Russia is planning to utilize a nuclear weapon, however, it is going to stay observing the arrangements in Belarus to conduct its associate`s atomic arsenal, National Security Council representative John Kirby stated on Friday.

Previously in the day, Russian Leader Vladimir Putin informed his fellow Alexander Lukashenko that the placement of strategic nuclear weapons in Belarus could begin soon in July.

Kirby labeled the declaration “another example of just reckless and irresponsible rhetoric” coming from Moscow, which the United States is going to “have to take seriously.”

“We’re doing the best we can to monitor,” he informed CNN’s Christiane Amanpour. “We don’t see anything out there that shows us that there’s an imminent indication of movement of nuclear capabilities, or imminent risk of nuclear war inside Ukraine or even on the continent.”
