Cairo – This Tuesday (6), in Egypt, the 2nd Africa Health Exhibition and Conference's ( Africa Health ExCon ) activities in Cairo were opened to boost business in the health sector. The show occurs from June 6 to 9 under the patronage of Egyptian president Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi (pictured above), who opened the event.
Around 90 countries and over 1,200 Egyptian and international speakers and experts are participating. The event will have 316 panels and 36 workshops addressing different topics, including cooperation between Egypt and other African countries to improve the quality of health services, expanding Africa's capacity to manufacture vaccines and treatments, and the latest medical technologies for promoting women's health on the continent.

The conference is considered the gateway to innovation and commerce in Africa and Egypt, being an annual meeting between international companies in the medical field across the continent.
President Al-Sisi said Egypt would be declared free of the hepatitis C virus, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) standards, in a few days or weeks. He encouraged the country to share its experiences with other African countries and foster development in this field.
In the opening session, the Egyptian president said through cooperation and coordination, it is possible to improve the modest current capacities, highlighting the importance of the countries' initiatives to preserve the health of the citizens. Egypt is seeking to address its massive population growth and shortage of hospitals by launching new healthcare initiatives.
The Africa Health ExCon brings together healthcare industry representatives to explore business in different areas such as medical supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, laboratory inputs and chemicals, dental equipment and supplies, skin care products, nutrition and vitamins, service providers, pharmacies, and food and packaging industries.
