State Borrowings To Budget Reach Almost UAH 740B Since Year-Start


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Government borrowings to the state budget's general fund came to UAH 738.9 billion in January-May 2023.

That's according to the Finance Ministry's press service , Ukrinform reports.

"Actual state borrowings to the state budget's general fund in January-May 2023 amounted to UAH 738.9 billion, or 87.9% of the plan for this period," the report says.

From the placement of government bonds, UAH 240.3 billion was raised, including UAH 80.3 billion in foreign currency (USD 1,644.1 million and EUR 504.9 million), to finance the state budget. In addition, UAH 101.1 billion was attracted from the issuance of military government bonds. UAH 498.6 billion was raised from external sources.

It is noted that payments for repayment of the state debt in January-May 2023 amounted to UAH 197.8 billion (96.8% of the plan), debt service payments came to UAH 83.8 billion (91.5% of the plan).

As reported by Ukrinform, state borrowings to the general fund of the state budget in 2022 amounted to UAH 1,261.1 billion.
